Humanities and Multi-Disciplinary Studies Major (Bachelor of Arts)

A student majoring in humanities and multi-disciplinary studies must complete 65 quarter hours made up of the core requirements, the required number of electives in the humanities and sciences, and the required number of additional electives pertaining to the student’s chosen focus of study and senior thesis project.

Humanities electives must be chosen in consultation with both the director of Humanities and Multidisciplinary Studies and the supervising professor(s) whose expertise relates to the student’s chosen focus of study (16 credits must be upper division. May be chosen from art, English, history, music, religion, philosophy, or theology. Must include 4 credits from ENGL 214 or any upper-division general studies literature course and 4 credits from any upper-division history or philosophy course).

Choose from biology, business, chemistry, communication, computer science, education, engineering, psychology, health, mathematics, nursing, physical education, physics, social work, sociology, or technology.

Students are allowed broad choice in this category of electives in order to shape their focus of study. These electives, however, must be chosen in consultation with both the director of Humanities and Multi-Disciplinary Studies and the supervising professor(s) whose expertise relates to the student’s chosen focus.
