SOWK 375 Policy and Advocacy Practice for Social Justice
Study of social welfare policy and its impact upon clients, social workers, and social services. Introduces students to the process of policy formulation and acquaints them with different frameworks for policy analysis. Includes a study of legislative advocacy, lobbying, and empowerment of clients through social and political action. Encourages student participation in local and national advocacy organizations that seek to further social justice.
