Bible Lands

Travel dates: June 24 – July 19, 2019

Cost: $6,200 plus airfare

Course dates are June 24–August 16, with advance assignments before the tour begins and time commitment for completion of coursework afterward. This is a once-in-a life time chance to follow not only in the footsteps of Jesus, but also Moses, the Apostle Paul, and even John the Revelator! During the summer of 2019, 44 students will travel to Israel, Jordan, Egypt, and Turkey (ancient Asia Minor) with Dr. Carl Cosaert and Dr. Paul Dybdahl. Visiting Cairo, Jerusalem, the Mount of Olives, Jericho, Nazareth, Ephesus, Laodicea, and more! This special trip is guaranteed to be life-changing, and will definitely make your reading of the Bible come alive in vivid color. And if that was not incentive enough, you can even earn up to eight credits of lower and/or upper division credit that counts toward the general studies religion requirement.

Shakespeare at Ashland

Dates: August 19–23, 2019

Cost: $1,510 including tuition

Director: Cynthia Westerbeck, English Department

Spend a week at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in Ashland, Oregon. This summer’s line-up includes Macbeth, All’s Well That Ends Well, As You Like It, and a bilingual adaptation of The Comedy of Errors.

Students read in advance the four Shakespeare plays scheduled for performance this season, write preliminary responses, and then attend lectures/discussions and performances of the plays during five days spent at the Oregon Shakespeare Festival in August.
