History Major (Bachelor of Arts)
A student majoring in history must complete 58 quarter hours in the major, the general studies program, and all baccalaureate degree requirements as outlined in this bulletin. Students must complete and present a senior history thesis.

HIST 121 and HIST 122: HONR 131, HONR 132, HONR 133 will fulfill the Western Civilization requirement, but only 8 credits will apply to history. The other 4 credits are counted as literature.
Electives: Twenty credits must be upper-division, including eight in European history and eight in American history.
HIST 495: Six quarters required; or number of quarters in residence at WWU, whichever is fewer.
