CHEM 431 Foundations of Biochemistry
A first course in biochemistry emphasizing the application of chemical principles to the study of proteins, nucleic acids, enzyme catalysis, membrane transport, bioenergetics, and metabolic pathways. An introduction to cellular signaling is also included. Priority will be given to biochemistry, chemistry, and pre-professional students whose programs require it. Prerequisite: CHEM 323. Recommended: BIOL 392, 393.
