VISA 284 Ceramics: Hand Building

This is an introductory clay class.  Students are introduced to basic hand building techniques. Aesthetic possibilities and relationships will be explored through the acquisition of basic clay skills and processes, increasing craftsmanship, and attention to design, and surface consideration. While exploring material and conceptual concerns, we will also investigate historical context and contemporary expressive use of clay as an art medium. (Course fees apply.)
